January Drawing Challenge Intro and Catch up

So, January 1st I started a drawing challenge that I have been posting updates to on Twitter and Instagram, but I realized I was leaving the most important thing out!!!  Talking about my blog of course.  This month's theme for me is "keep it simple, keep it fun, just do it."  It doesn't matter how long I spend on each drawing, I just have to do it.  As I am working through these, I'm finding I want to spend more and more time on shading and corrections.  Some of them I have been using youtube classes (which I will post of course).  Others, I have done on my own.  I am currently a day behind, but honestly, that really doesn't bother me.  Don't punish yourself.  Just move on.  Good thing January has an extra day!

So here is the challenge if you want to try it.  I highly recommend it even if you don't think you can draw!!!  Super therapeutic!  Use Youtube.  It is your friend!

Day 1- I was super proud of this.  It is based off of one of my wedding pictures.  I really struggled with the teeth, so the smile became a closed smile.

Day 2- Favorite animal.  So almost anyone who knows me would say my favorite animal is a penguin.  Penguins are awesome and they certainly are one of my favorite animals, but the funny thing is that actually came from a joke in middle school.  We had to do a project on an animal and wolves were takes.  Since my name is at the end of the alphabet, I didn't have many choices, so penguins it was.  It became a joke that penguins were my favorite animal, then reality because it was joked about so much, but few people will remember that I adore and always have loved wolves.

Anyways... here is the link I used.  I really love this teacher!  How to Draw a Wolf

Day 3- Favorite Place-  I literally could not think of a favorite  place I had, so I based this off my favorite fantasy painting; in the woods, near a river and waterfall, a beautiful bridge, perfect.

Day 4- Favorite food= coffee!  How to Draw a Cup and Saucer

So, I hope you decide to give it a try too!  Use youtube videos and other resources and please share with me!  I'd love to see yours either on in the comment sections here or on social media!!
